About satra
Greetings!
I am satra d. taylor and I welcome you to my space! First and foremost, I am a passionate educator and lifelong learner. I am also an experienced equity advocate, leveraging policy, partnerships, and research as levers for social change in higher education. Within my career, I have acquired expertise in engaging coalitions, managing collective investments, public speaking, and writing for diverse audiences. I have also served as a senior administrator for a social justice grassroots organization, leading its strategy on community engagement and organizational impact and effectiveness. Before that, I led policy strategy for a national advocacy and policy organization, culminating in the restoration of Pell Grants for incarcerated students. At one of the nation's most influential young adult advocacy and policy organizations, I led the overall strategy and positioning on higher education and workforce policy issues, including — college affordability, mental health wellness, student success, and career readiness.
I am most proud of my social entrepreneurial endeavors. In 2021, I founded P&J Flo. Consulting, LLC., a consulting company interconnecting civics, community engagement, and strategic communications to mobilize historically marginalized communities toward intergenerational communal change.
I have attained strong content expertise with a Master's degree focused on Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan and am a current University of Maryland College Park doctoral student studying Higher Education.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.
